Rebecca Allgire
Rebecca Allgire is excited to be a founding ESL teacher at The American Dream School. She is originally from St. Louis and studied Spanish and sociology at the University of Missouri.  After graduating from college, Rebecca spent two years serving with the Peace Corps in rural Guatemala.  She then moved to New York to earn a master’s degree from Teachers College in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages.   Rebecca has been teaching middle school ESL in the Bronx for two years and is looking forward to a great year with American Dream.

Niki DeGiorgio
I'm Niki DeGiorgio! I was born in the Bronx and raised in southwestern Connecticut. Growing up, my Italian American family taught me the importance of family, communication and compassion. They also taught me to fight for what I believe, to laugh and to always bring myself genuinely into situations. This first education has served me well over the years.  After receiving my bachelors degree, I began work at a charter school as a Family Advocate, a role that allowed me to support the students in school and the families in their homes.  Working with the high and complex needs of these inner-city families, inspired me to go back to school for my masters in education, special education and social work.  Since completing my grad school work, I've worked in various middle school settings tirelessly supporting the academic and social growth of my students.  I'm beyond excited to join the team at the American Dream School and to share my love of books, writing, sports, cupcakes and movies with my new community!

Sarah Fuentes
Sarah Fuentes, Sixth Grade Math Teacher, joined ADS after thirteen years of teaching in the South Bronx.  Sarah began her career teaching fourth and fifth grade elementary class and later, the Gifted and Talented Program.  After five years she decided to specialize her teaching in mathematics in a charter school teaching both fifth and sixth grade math.  As a Teach for America alum, Sarah received her masters degree in Childhood Education from Bank Street College in Manhattan.  In her spare time, she plays volleyball throughout the city in various leagues.  Sarah is excited to continue her work at ADS, inspired by the mission and energy of the community.

Elaine Martinez
I'm Elaine Martinez and will be teaching Bilingual Special Education to your students.  I have been teaching special education for 5 years, mostly in the Bronx.  I am excited to work at ADS, because I believe in the dual language model.  I am fully bilingual/biliterate in English and Spanish.  This district is special to me because I started my teaching career a few blocks away in 141st Street and Morris Avenue.  I understand exactly what it’s like to grow up bilingual in a setting that highly encourages one to forget ones roots.  Having migrated to the United States at a very young age one of my resolutions was to maintain my language for without it I would lose a large part of my family and myself.

Israel Morales
I'm Israel Morales and will be leading the Project Based Learning class with your students. I previously taught for five years at Bronx Preparatory Charter School, and am excited to work at ADS because it's offering an amazing opportunity for your children to learn in an amazing environment. I am originally from southern California, so I speak fluent Spanglish. I hope to learn as much from our students as they will learn from us.
